Want to make a difference and help save the lives of our community’s unhoused citizens? The Sierra Roots Cold Weather Shelter needs compassionate staff and volunteers. To learn more about the variety of positions, paid and volunteer, attend the orientation and training on that will be scheduled at Nevada City Veterans Hall, 415 N. Pine St. (enter lower level, rear parking lot) sometime in October or November 2024.
Depending on the shift and duties, paid positions provide $20 – $30/hour. Work is on-call and intermittent since the shelter only opens in extremely cold weather.
